Collection: Patterned brocades

Brocade fabric is a woven fabric with particular designs obtained through a discontinuous weft manufacturing process. Bright and iridescent, traditionally in silk, with the addition of metallic textures in gold and silver. Until the 9th century , brocade fabrics were produced exclusively by hand on an artisan loom. In the 20th century, production with a jaquard loom was born, which speeded up production times and costs. Brocade fabric is used both in clothing - perfect for making jackets, with rigid and elegant structures - and in furnishings - cushions, curtains, furniture coverings, sofas and armchairs but also as upholstery.
