Collection: Striped silk

Silk was originally processed in China, probably as early as 6000 BC, although there are authoritative studies that date its processing back to 3000 BC. The legend of the silkworm tells that the birth of sericulture is due to Empress Xi Ling Shi who discovered the qualities of the cocoon. The Chinese empress was walking when she noticed a caterpillar, touching it with her fingers a silk thread emerged which she wrapped around her finger forming a small cocoon. Silk was then gradually used and processed throughout China . Thanks to merchants, Chinese and otherwise, the qualities of silk were soon appreciated in neighboring countries and throughout Europe.
